Brown Goldsmiths Suit Drive/Happy Hour!

A Message from Brown Goldsmiths:

We invite you (and your friends) to join us on
Tuesday, Nov. 15th from 5 - 7:00 PM
for a Suit Drive!

Please bring a ladies' suit or business outfit* to donate to

Dress for Success Southern Maine

Brown Goldsmiths is pleased to support this unique program to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women. We are located at 11 Mechanic Street in Freeport. Please call 865-4126 for more information.

We look forward to a fun benefit, with wine, hors d'oeuvres, and an exciting collection of jewelry creations. Bring your business cards and do some networking with other women in business. One lucky lady will go home with a special gift from Brown Goldsmiths and all who attend will have an opportunity to enter our New Year's Eve Diamond Stud giveaway. Valued at over $4,000. What a great way to start the new year.

A portion of the evening's jewelry purchases will be donated to Dress for Success Southern Maine.

*Clothing for donation should be dry cleaned, or laundered and pressed, and in very good condition.

Inquiring minds want to know...

To organize a suit drive, you will need to:
  1. Contact your Dress for Success Southern Maine to:
    • Inquire about our clothing needs. If we cannot accept any more apparel donations at that time, ask about doing an accessory or shoe drive.
    • Let them know that you are planning a suit drive.
    • Receive instructions.
  2. Obtain the necessary approval from your company (or other organization).
  3. Pick the dates of your suit drive. One day? A whole week? (We suggest you host your suit drive during S.O.S. - Send One Suit - Weekend, which is held annually in February.)
  4. Involve co-workers or friends who will share the responsibilities. Don't run your suit drive alone!
  5. Pick a time and place for people to drop off their donated items.
  6. Plan to collect financial contributions. Suit drives usually include financial donations from the participants, such as the host company and its employees. Providing this option also encourages men to take part in the event.
  7. Decide how you will market your suit drive to generate awareness, volunteers and donations for the event.
