The Lipstick Jungle??

On December 7, we're throwing a party.

Sort of.

Celebrated author and business communication expert Jane Hight McMurry will be giving a talk about succeeding in your career, and therefore life, to benefit Dress for Success Southern Maine. We're psyched!

Jane has volunteered her services to Dress for Success affiliates worldwide. Our mission of helping disadvantaged women gain economic independence, gain or regain confidence and get the tools they need to succeed is directly related to the subject matter of Jane's many books. But a big part of her presentation is will also be about fun.

Here are a couple of highlights from the FAQ section of her website:

Q: Are you funny?
A: I am witty, use humor, tell personal anecdotes, and involve my audience. I use a variety of unique visual aids that not only grab attention, but provoke laughter. I was voted "Wittiest" by the students at E.M. Rollins school!

Q: Are you always a success?
A: Yes...if the audience is awake, sober and willing to listen.
 

We'll also have music, cocktails, and some great raffle items including a few Cole Haan bags, Mani/Pedis, D. Cole earrings and necklace, and a subscription to Portland Magazine.

We had a great time at Brown Goldsmiths' suit drive/happy hour! The donations they collected are an asset to the inventory at our boutique and greatly appreciated. They also rounded up the check for the portion of the proceeds from the sales they made that night. Monetary donations are critical to our campaign right now!

One lucky lady will go home with a special gift from Brown Goldsmiths and all who attend will have an opportunity to enter our New Year's Eve Diamond Stud giveaway. Valued at over $4,000. What a great way to start the new year.

A portion of the evening's jewelry purchases will be donated to Dress for Success Southern Maine. 

*Clothing for donation should be dry cleaned, or laundered and pressed, and in very good condition.
